While everyone was focused on building systems using PHP, I was more focused on the interface, with Photoshop and Front-end in hand. I was the only one in the class who wanted to study this. So, I decided to study to connect more to the subject.
In 2011, I graduated in Digital Media Design from Impacta College of Technology, where I stood out among 40 students. I began my career with my first internship at TerraForum, where I worked on customized intranets using Microsoft SharePoint.
It was an experience that taught me the value of personalization and focusing on the user experience.
My journey continued to Vindi, a recurring payments startup where I was the first employee. I was responsible for creating the visual identity and, later, the product strategy, helping to scale the design operation and leading a team of 15 designers. Working on platform integration and design systems for the fintechs acquired by Locaweb, we helped implement a Product-Led Growth (PLG) model that was essential for the company’s growth.
While I was at Vindi, I created an events company called Innovation Pay, which after 5 years has become one of the largest events on innovation and technology for the payments sector in Latin America.
With careful curation and the participation of leading industry experts, from the Central Bank of Brazil, incumbent banks to fintechs and digital banks, Innovation Pay has become a reference point for discussing trends, challenges and the future of the payments market in the country.
My contribution involved everything from planning the event, selling sponsorship and tickets, selecting speakers, organizing the day of the event to developing design and communication materials, which helped position Innovation Pay as an essential event for the sector.
At Serasa Experian, I immersed myself in a socially impactful project of credit offers. Our team increased the conversion rate from 3% to 4.5%, a growth that, in a volume of millions of accesses, generated affordable credit for many people in Brazil. In a country with 72.5 million people with bad credit, this improvement in assertiveness and competitiveness of rates made a real difference for millions of people.
In 2019, I co-founded Conta Simples, a fintech focused on SMEs that went through the YCombinator acceleration program. I was responsible for the design of the internet banking for desktop and mobile, which contributed to the company’s rapid growth, reaching 20,000 accounts in three months. Since then, Conta Simples has continued its trajectory, raising a round of R$200 million (USD 40 million) and generating 384 jobs. With over R$17 billion in card processing, Conta Simples has not only generated financial value, but has also had a profound social impact in Brazil, boosting access to credit and the growth of SMEs.
Later, at Itaú, the largest bank in Latin America with over 500 designers, I deepened my understanding of large-scale design operations. My work as a Product Designer in the design system and in the vehicle financing journey allowed me to explore in depth how to scale research, processes and design, ensuring consistency and efficiency in a large-scale operation.
In 2020, to strengthen my theoretical foundation, I graduated in User Experience from PUC and was invited to lead IXDA São Paulo, one of the largest design communities in the world, a responsibility that I accepted with enthusiasm.
Currently, in my first international experience, I work at ZenQMS, a SaaS company based in Philadelphia. I am the sole designer responsible for four squads and the design developed by the marketing team, where I developed a new design system to ensure scalability and quality in the pharmaceutical sector. This experience reinforces my commitment to design as a strategic tool to drive product success and generate value for people.
